Abstract:		 A desk-based assessment was undertaken in advance of proposed development. Two archaeological sites were previously recorded within 100m of the site; a Romano-British pavement and an undated ring ditch. The 1st edition OS map of 1854 indicated that the site had been on a partially wooded peninsula of land extending to the river. The recorded evidence indicated that there was potential for archaeological remains to have been located within the site and a further watching brief was recommended. [AIP]
