Abstract: |
Fourteen trenches were excavated situated within a playing field. One of the trenches revealed a pit, an extensive ditch and a third large feature, all containing medieval pottery. Two further trenches contained features believed to be archaeological but no finds were retrieved from their fills. Two trenches were placed within an agricultural field to the south of the playing fields. One of these contained two large post hole type features, the other exposed two large linear ditches and several discrete cut features. The fill of one of the ditches and the fills of two of the pits contained small quantities of pottery dating from the Bronze Age or Iron Age. [Au(abr)] |
