Abstract: |
Maiden Castle was an enclosure of uncertain but probably late prehistoric date. The enclosure, its avenue and two adjacent avenues were surveyed. The function of the site was uncertain and no parallels were available but it was certain that the site was not a defensive enclosure, or a banjo enclosure as had been previously suggested in the past.
