Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based assessment of the proposed site of a power station was undertaken. Roman occupation and a cemetery had been recorded in the surrounding area, and a Roman road may have passed through the vicinity. Human burials, probably of 18th century date, had been found to the east. Part of the development site lay over a corner of this cemetery. Previous building work would have truncated any archaeological deposits beneath the site, and it was concluded that an evaluation would not be necessary. It was recommended, however, that numbers 51-53 should be checked by an archaeologist after removal of the floor slab. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
