Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of pole holes within the area of upstanding earthworks which represented a medieval salt-producing site and were an SAM. The investigation recorded topsoil overlying thick bands of silts which were probably redeposited materials deriving from the salt-making processs, but were undated. Part of a buried brick wall of probable 20th century date was also exposed. The wall appeared to represent an otherwise unknown brick structure in the scheduled area. [Au] |
