Abstract: |
Recording was undertaken during two site visits, the first at the request of the Coroner's Office, Lincoln, and the second by the request of Lincolnshire Constabulary, to view human remains on the bank of the Witham at Fiskerton. As there was no evidence for a grave, and as there was little information on initial deposition of the skeletal material recoverd, a halt was called on any further excavation. The indications from the teeth, which were worn down but in good condition (no visible fillings) and the mixed skeletal materail are that the body had probably been deposited sometime over fifty years ago. However, whether it had lain in the bank and had been disturbed or in the river and why, was impossible to say. [Au(adp)] |
