Abstract: |
Oxford Archaeological Unit undertook a watching brief on the west Oxford Sewer Project. In the urban areas, made ground, modern disturbance and alluvial clays were discovered in the sections of those headshafts inspected. In the rural areas, topsoil directly overlaid alluvial deposits and natural; on Wolvercote Common, which was a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a site of Special Scientific Interest. Deposits and disturbance associated with the creation of the railway were identified. [Au] |
