Abstract: |
Monitoring of footings at the site provided evidence for a large ditch or pond running close to the road frontage. Pottery evidence suggested gradual infilling from the medieval period onwards, and a relatively large quantity of late medieval pottery in the upper levels of the ditch and a nearby layer was thought to indicate mid to high status occupation in the early post-medieval period.
