Abstract: |
During the course of the excavation that took place in early 1999, the western edge of the former Limekiln Dock was recorded along with adjacent dockside buildings. Up to 2.5 metres of overburden was mechanically excavated. All the structures observed in the 2001 watching brief were identifiable from Ordnance Survey maps. Evidence for the development of the Limekiln Dock area from the late 18th century was established. [Au(abr)] |
