Abstract: |
Two Mesolithic finds had originated from the dry valley in which the site was located, one from the site itself. The line of a Roman road lay immediately to the north of the site and may have encroached upon the north-eastern corner. Roman villas had been recorded in the area, and associated features such as field systems were expected to be encountered. A cropmark relating to a World War II camp to the west of the site was also noted. Two infilled 19th century ponds had been recorded on the site. [Au(adp)] |
