Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site was undertaken. A neolithic axe, an antler hoe, bronze age pits and iron age pottery had been found in the surrounding area. Roman buildings, wells and road surfaces had been recorded in the vicinity, and the projected route of a Roman road crossed the site. 10th century sunken buildings had been excavated to the west; settlement in the area had been documented since the 12th century. It was concluded that an evaluation should be carried out. [AIP] |
