Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during groundworks to excavate tree planting pits in the St. Margaret's Way area, which lay within the confines of the early medieval suburbs around St Margaret's Church. No archaeological deposits were exposed, possibly due to the shallow depth of the excavated tree pits. The majority of the material encountered was recent make-up layers for the construction of the central ring road. The natural stratigraphy was not reached. [Au(abr)] |
