Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief during the construction of a surface water sewer outfall, serving industrial development in Love Lane, clarified the construction of the canal and railway. The canal and towpath had been cut from natural blue clay with the upcast forming its prominent bank, and the railway cutting had been excavated through a surface outcrop of limestone cornbrash. Ditches and channels relating to the medieval and later water-meadow system were also recorded. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
