Abstract: |
An evaluation following on from a rapid desktop study produced no evidence or finds of archaeological significance. None of the trenches located signs of defensive ditches which may have related to Shenley Toot (a medieval motte and bailey castle and latterly a 16th century manor house and gardens), and no other earthworks were present on the site. On this basis no damage was thought likely to be caused to archaeological deposits by the proposed development. [Au] |
