Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of footings for a dwelling because the site lay close to the historic core of the settlement, within an area of known archaeological remains. The investigations recorded an undated pit of uncertain function sealed below modern subsoil and topsoil. Although close to extant earthworks, the development did not disturb any significant archaeological remains. Finds of a Neolithic or Bronze Age flint scraper, medieval and modern pottery and modern glass were recovered from this investigation. [Au(adp)] |
