Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of engineering test pits. Roman burials and settlement evidence had been recorded in the surrounding area, and medieval settlement had also occurred. During the watching brief, unidentified Roman features were recorded. Fragments of Roman pottery, tile, daub, animal bone and slag were recovered. It was concluded that further archaeological work should be undertaken at the site. [AIP] |
