Abstract: |
Two large shallow mound were examined in detail. The possible remains of hearths towards the centres of both mounds suggested that they were built as raised platforms for use in times of serious flooding, perhaps for livestock. The remains of possible post holes beneath both mound could indicate a structural element predating them. Also of interest was the discovery of a coin hoard on the eastern bank of the River Yare. It consisted of over two hundred 16th to 17th century silver coins. [Au(abr)] |
