Abstract: |
A monitoring visit was undertaken following the stripping of topsoil in advance of the construction of eight dwellings. It was noted that a certain amount of small-scale dumping had taken place along the south-east boundary of the site. A number of modern artefacts were observed but not recovered, and no archaeological features were seen. It was concluded that the centre of the Domesday settlement had probably lain to the east.
