Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken as a supporting statement for the submission of a planning application. The site lay on flood plain gravel terraces of the River Thames at c.4.5m AOD. The site was outside of the Archaeological Priority Area, being approximately 1km south of the River Thames. The current proposals for the redevelopment of the site were comprised of conversion and demolition of the existing 140 Battersea Park Road buildings and construction of a new multi-storey building with piled foundations and an underground car park. There was a low archaeological potential at the site from all periods. The site was situated outside central Battersea in an area developed during the 19th century. [Au(abr)]. |
