Abstract: |
Medieval waterfronts were likely to be present but it was unclear if the study site was occupied by buildings in this periods. Throughout the post-medieval period from 1700 until1894 the study site was believed to have been occupied by the gardens of Picton House. Previous development on the site was unlikely to have had a significant archaeological impact, although localised impacts would have occurred through the cutting of foundation and service trenches. Pre post-medieval archaeological deposits may have been blanketed by a thick deposit of post-medieval garden deposits. [Au(adp)] |
