Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on the former site of the Abbey Grange. The site was registered as a site of archaeological interest and was believed to have been part of the precinct of Great Malvern Priory, founded in 1085. Two mechanically excavated trenches were opened. One principal feature, a ditch infilled with stratified medieval and post medieval artefacts was revealed, as well as environmental deposits. This ditch was interpreted as being a possible conduit for the domestic water supply of the Priory. [AIP] |
