Abstract: |
A desk-based study to assess the archaeological implications of a possible site for the proposed new Visitor Centre on the site of the Former Pedigree Stock Farm to the south of the A303 on Stonehenge Down was undertaken. The study area lay within the World Heritage Site and contained three Scheduled Ancient Monuments. Fifty-six archaeological sites were identified within the study area. Eleven archaeological monuments could be recognized: three barrow cemeteries, two oval mounds, three linear boundaries, a field-system, and a flint scatter. [AIP] |
