Abstract: |
Trial trenching at four seperate sites within the study area revealed Iron Age and Romano-British features beneath medieval and later ploughsoils. The evaluation findings broadly correlated with the results of preceeding geophysical and fieldwalking surveys, confirming the survival of extensive, multi-period settlement and agricultural related remains within the areas examined.
