Abstract: |
<summary>An evaluation on land to the rear of Millgate House Hotel proposed for development identified a 17th century ditch, possibly of Civil War origin, and scatters of medieval pottery, indicating that the proposed development area had probably been open land rather than backyards during the Medieval period. This evidence also indicated that the main area of medieval settlement may have lain to the west of the proposal area, between Millgate and the river. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
