Abstract: |
A total of eight machine excavated trial trenches were dug, two of which produced remains of archaeological significance. Trench one exposed two pits/ post holes and a gully, all of probable prehistoric date and a grave of Anglo-Saxon date that had been previously excavated. Six features were exposed in trench seven. Four of these were small pits, three of general prehistoric and one of mid-later Iron Age date. Two very large pits, possibly used for grain storage, of later Iron Age date were sampled. [Au(abr)] |
