Abstract: |
Documentary research identified that there was a manorial site at Edmonthorpe from at least the Norman period and probably earlier. The first house was built around a courtyard in 1621 which had been infilled with two staircases by the 18th century. Both the front and rear of the house underwent episodes of remodelling at the beginning of the 18th century and during the 19th century, when additional Tudor style outbuildings were added. [AIP] |
