Abstract:
Archaeological investigation was undertaken of a mid/late Iron Age site in advance of the construction of a by-pass. The work included geophysical survey and systematic fieldwalking in advance of excavation which involved the removal of c.4300m of ploughsoil, of which c.2600m was subject to detailed archaeological recording. A watching brief was conducted on over c.1.6km stretch of the route adjacent to the site. [Au(abr)]
