Abstract: |
An excavation was carried out at a development site, after an evaluation had revealed archaeological structures and deposits. The site had first been documented in the 13th century. During the excavation, medieval pits, post holes and ploughsoil and an 11th century lead weight were recorded. Several building phases, dating from the mid-15th to the early 19th century, were identified. A 15th-16th century tile hearth, possibly industrial, was noted. Drains associated with the latest building phase were excavated and post-medieval pottery was recovered. [AIP] |
