Abstract: |
Two areas of the development site were excavated. Area 1 contained medieval pits and post holes, underlying the post-medieval foundations of Harpsfield Hall/Farm. A substantial 19th century ditch was also recorded in area 1. Area 2 contained five parallel ditches, associated with a line of post-holes of Late Bronze Age. A number of pits were identified, including two containing a large assemblage of pottery. A residual Lower Palaeolithic handaxe was also recovered. [Au(abr)] |
