Abstract:
A survey was conducted on 18 bridges Scheduled as Ancient Monuments. These bridges are both structures of historic and architectural importance as well as functional parts of the modern highway network. Each bridge was surveyed making measured plans at both road and river levels, and a record of each elevation of the structure using rectified photography. Documentary sources were also trawled for historical information on the bridges. [Au(abr)]
