Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during topsoil stripping and the excavation of holes for steel uprights for a new silage store, at a site which lay 120m to the west of the putative line of Watling Street, a Roman road. A number of circular features of unknown significance had been recorded near the site, on aerial photographs. During the watching brief, no evidence of structural remains was recorded, and the only artefacts recovered were of late 19th and 20th century date. [AIP] |
