Abstract: |
The watching brief established that the outer western bank and ditch belonging to the southern section were the only elements of the moated site still surviving. It was recommended that these should not be disturbed without prior archaeological investigation. Other areas had archaeological remains sealed by later infilling of the moat. Examination of the archaeological features revealed by the excavations, and being able to relate them to the earthwork was a valuable contribution to the archaeological knowledge of the site.[AIP] |
