Abstract: |
An watching brief was undertaken during the re-direction of service trenches, the demolition of a store and workshop buildings, the refurbishment of the Great Barn, the constrution of a new unit and additional security structures at Durham Prison and Elvethall Manor. No significant archaeological deposits were identified within the Prison. Deposits were identified at Elvethall Manor dating from the post-medieval period until the 20th century. Two walls were incorporated into modern structures on the site, one of which may have been medieval in date. [Au(adp)] |
