Abstract: |
The watching brief programme at Moat House, a 17th century construction with late medieval features, produced ceramic evidence, including a 14th century glazed roof tile which suggested that the manor was in existence from the 11th or very early 12th century. Second to fourth century Romano-British ceramic evidence indicated that a high status building, possibly a villa was also situated within the vicinity of the site, as highlighted by the 1994 evaluation excavations on an adjacent site.[Au(abr)] |
