Abstract: |
The evaluation identified a ditch that was dated to the early medieval period AD 970-110. The ditch was roughly parallel with Fore Street which had medieval origins and may have been a back garden or property boundary and might have represented the easternmost limits of the medieval settlement at this point. Remaining features were all dated to the 17th century and consisted of a foundation, a pit and three bedding trenches, all of which probably once again marking a property boundary in the 17th century.
