Abstract: |
Archaeological observations were made after a collapse had occured underneath a trench that was being excavated for a new supply. The presence of archaeological remains was considered to be a distinct possibilty due to the presence of old coal workings in the area. An adit was observed but further investigation was deemed impossible due to further collapsing of the trench. A 19th century date for the adit was suggested. [AIP] |
