Abstract: |
In anticipation of an application for sand and gravel extraction an archaeological desk based assessment was undertaken. Little evidence was found for prehistoric or Romano-British activity at the site, but a number of chance finds of such material had been made in the vicinity. Documentary sources indicated that the principal historical use of the site was in the medieval and post-medieval periods for agricultural purposes. [AIP] |
