Abstract: |
Following a desk top assessment an archaeological watching brief was undertaken on a cropmark site prior to destruction by gravel extraction. Several probable boundary/drainage ditches, a possible palisade slot and three pits, all of uncertain date were examined. Several of the linear features could be equated to features known from aerial photographic evidence. In addition, a peat deposits was investigated and samples recovered for specialist examination.
