Abstract: |
75 trenches were located over 6 seperate areas. Area 1 produced two features, one of which was Late Iron Age to Roman in date. Area 2 revealed a possible field boundary and a dense area of ancient activity of Roman date. Area 3 revealed the remains of a Roman building and limited evidence of industrial evidence related to 19th century cement manufacture. Area 4 exposed an Iron Age post hole and possible gully. Area 5 was populated with post-holes and pits, all potentially prehistoric. Area 6 showed up the limited remains of a gully, a possible trackway and pits of an uncertain date, and a post-medieval ditch. [Au(abr)] |
