Abstract: |
Following a field evaluation an archaeological excavation of a limited area of a residential development site was undertaken. A total of 30 cut features were seen and recorded, although a number of these proved to be of natural origin. Cut features included a post hole alignment with a right angle return, probably a building; a severely truncated ditch whose terminus respected the post hole alignment (although this cannot be asserted with confidence) and a cluster of stakeholes around a post hole. The latter feature and the ditch contained Bronze Age pottery. Most other features were isolated and difficult to interpret. It was considered likely that more features existed undisturbed to the south, outside the excavation area. [Au(abr)] |
