Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was undertaken on a path-edging scheme, and consisted of the recording of a wall/footing which had been uncovered during the work. The excavation had been completed before the archaeologists were informed, consequently it was only possible to record what was exposed in the trench. In a drawing dating to {italon}circa{italoff} 1700 it can be seen that the wall did not exist at the beginning of the 18th century; however, another documentary source clearly indicates that the wall was standing in 1860. There is no recorded date for the demolition of the wall. {italon}AIP {italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 1990.1016 (YAT investigation identification no) |
