Abstract: |
<summary>Observations during the excavation of drains adjacent to the 16th century Congregational chapel revealed previously unrecorded architectural features within the fabric of the chapel itself, and evidence for a rise in ground level of approximately 0.5 metres. The architectural features, comprising a blocked opening in the south wall, an exterior membrane wall serving the west and south walls, and a possible extension of the west wall to the south, probably relate to rebuilding works undertaken in the middle of the 19th century. {italon}?Au{italoff} |
