Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a new electricity cable trench and substation pit at Boarstall Tower, the only medieval military building remaining in Buckinghamshire. Buried foundations, the upper fills of the moat, cut features and a mortar spread were identifed; a substantial quantity of medieval pottery was retrieved from one cut feature. The artefactual evidence suggested that the preservation of the medieval archaeology was likely to be good. [Au(adp)] |
