Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment and survey was undertaken of Shaugh Bridge china-clay works. The RCHME undertook a measured survey of the site, which was then annotated and interpreted by the Cornwall Archaeological Unit. The work identified the site as a particularly fine example of a mid-period china-clay pan-kiln and associated sites. In many respects it was typical of working practice at that time (c. 1870-1880), but in others it was unusual and to some degree enigmatic. [Au(adp)] |
