Abstract: |
Two trenches located to the north of the church retained evidence of what appeared to be a buried soil horizon running contiguous with a tomb in the west facing trench section of test pit 2. No articulated human remains were encountered throughout the excavation of these two trenches. Two test pits located to the south of the church contained noticeably different stratigraphy. A second tomb was encountered with only disarticulated human remains being recovered. A fully articulated skeleton was encountered in test pit 4. Two deep grave cuts were encountered and excavated cutting through probable earlier grave fills. [Au(abr)] |
