Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundation trenches for an extension to a public convenience which lay close to a medieval priory, withn the area covered by a SAM. Building materials, medieval pottery sherds and two complete medieval floor tiles were recovered, and building rubble was observed. No evidence of structures was found. The watching brief indicated that the area investigated had broadly similar stratigraphy over its whole extent. [AIP] |
