Abstract: |
Features and finds of 19th and 20th century dates were identified but no evidence of pre-conquest or medieval activity on the site was detected. This was probably due to the fact that the upper stratigraphy across much of the evaluated area had been remodelled and truncated by 19th and 20th century landscaping. The complete lack of medieval finds suggested that the glebe lands were used for agricultural, rather than industrial or residential purposes. No significant archaeological remains were located, no further work was deemed necessary unless discoveries were made by the developers.[AIP] |
