Abstract: |
The assessment identified that the surrounding landscape appeared to have been used quite extensively during the Bronze Age, although earlier remains found in the area comprised only a Mesolithic findspot. The course of a Roman road ran close to the proposed route, and Roman finds had been recorded in the vicinity. The initial stretch of the route was formed by the Redlands Conduit, which had been constructed in c. 1833. It was noted that this could be deemed worthy of recording in the event that the works impinged on it. [AIP] |
