Abstract: |
<summary>The fourth season concentrated on three major areas. A 30m length of backfilled moat was investigated, revealing the backfilling to be of three phases: mid 17th century, late 18th century, and early to mid 19th century. The first two phases comprised largely household rubbish, the third phase revealed the creation of a garden in this area. Work on the farmyard, farm buildings and the farmhouse, which was demolished in 1982, has now revealed its full plan. A trench to investigate the upcast from the moat which is spread over the platform revealed pre-moat medieval activity. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
