Abstract: |
Nine trial trenches were excavated prior to development, producing a small number of prehistoric flints, which indicated prehistoric activity within the vicinity. This was not surprising, as a number of Bronze Age occupation deposits had been found nearby. Further evidence was expected from the work on the probable early Bronze Age round barrow to the west of the site. Apart from these no deposits of archaeological significance were found and therefore the site appeared to have no significant archaeological potential. [Au(adp)] |
